The church

The Protestant Gustav Adolf Church is located in the parish of Beinerstadt in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

location

The church is located in the north-west of the village on a hill and like the village in the Franconian climatically favorable south of Thuringia.

history

Beinerstadt only had an independent parish church from 1632 to 1634 . From this time it was a daughter church of Leutershausen, then Reurieth , Dingsleben and from 1816 of Henfstädt . Now she belongs to Reurieth again. The annals do not tell when the church was first mentioned in a document. However, it can be deduced that the place was devastated after 1634. The church is named after King Gustav II Adolf of Sweden. The baptismal font bears the year 1636, which means that the church was functional again at that time. The Renaissance gable was rebuilt in 1635 after being destroyed. In 1653, further repair work on the church building is documented.

Furnishing

There are two-storey galleries on three walls . One leads along the top of the tower wall . The south pore is provided with twelve arches. Doric columns support the wooden structure on the parapets and the arched wooden ceiling. The choir is on the ground floor of the tower. The ceiling was once lower there, which you can tell by the heels. Maybe it was once a vault. The change took place in the 18th century. The stone altar in front of the altar wall probably dates from medieval times.
