Gustav-Adolf Schlomann

Gustav-Adolf Schlomann (born April 17, 1934 in Stralsund ) is a former German party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . He was chairman of the NDPD district association in Berlin and briefly deputy chairman of the NDPD.

Life

Schlomann attended elementary school and became a paralegal. He joined the NDPD in 1949 and attended the NDPD's Mecklenburg State Party School in 1952. He then became head of the organization department, then political manager of the Stralsund district of the NDPD. After attending the University for National Politics in Waldsieversdorf in 1953, he became the main consultant for the organization of the NDPD district committee in Rostock. From 1955 to 1959 he studied at the German Academy for Political Science and Law with a degree in law . From 1959 to 1963 he was deputy chairman of the Rostock City Council . From 1967 to 1984 he was head of department for party organs at the secretariat of the main committee of the NDPD in Berlin. From June 7, 1984 to November 29, 1989 he was chairman of the NDPD district association in Berlin (successor to Friedrich Pfaffenbach ).

Schlomann was a member of the main committee of the NDPD and was elected on December 5, 1985 to the presidium and secretariat of the main committee. From June 1986 to December 1989 he was a member of the Berlin city council . From February 27, 1989, he was a member of the Berlin District Election Commission to prepare and conduct the elections on May 7, 1989.

In the election of the party chairman at the 6th session of the NDPD main committee on November 7, 1989, he was defeated by Günter Hartmann and was elected one of the party's three deputy chairmen. Soon afterwards he was replaced by Ralph-Rainer Günther as NDPD district chairman and resigned from his seat as city councilor. From December 7, 1989, he worked at the Central Round Table in Berlin, which worked until March 12, 1990, shortly before the first (and last) free elections to the People's Chamber . Schlomann led the NDPD's election campaign for March 18, 1990.

Schlomann worked as a columnist for the VDGN journal from 2003 to 2008 .
