Gustav Albrecht von Schlabrendorf (officer)

Gustav Albrecht von Schlabrendorf (* December 22, 1703 , † October 26, 1765 in Breslau ) was a royal Prussian major general, chief of the cuirassier regiment No. 1 and heir to Groeben , Kietz, Jürchen and Wasmannsdorf.

His parents were Johann Christian von Schlabrendorf († September 1, 1720) and Anna Augusta Elisabeth von Pfuel from the Zehsen family. His father was the heir to Groß- and Klein-Beuthen. His younger brother was Ernst Wilhelm von Schlabrendorf the Minister of State in Silesia.

Life

He went into Prussian service early and took part in the Rhine campaign of 1734/1735. In 1735 he became a lieutenant in Dragoon Regiment VII and on September 8, 1739 captain (captain). In the First Silesian War he fought with him in 1742 in the battle of Chotusitz .

In 1745 he became major and fought on December 15 in the battle of Kesselsdorf . In 1751 he became a lieutenant colonel and in the Seven Years' War he fought on June 8, 1757 in the battle of Groß-Jägersdorf . In 1758 he became a colonel and fought in the Battle of Zorndorf . As early as 1759 he became major general. In the same year he also got the Cuirassier Regiment No. 1. He fought under von Wedel against the Swedes, then under General von Dohna against the Imperial Army, then under General Christian Friedrich von Diericke in Pomerania against the Swedes and under General von Wunsch in Saxony.

family

Since November 12, 1742 he was married to Christiane Amalie Ernestine von Roëll († August 1785), the daughter of Major General Friedrich Alexander von Roëll . The couple had three sons and a daughter.
August Wilhelm Leopold Eugenius (born March 28, 1748 - † July 12, 1796) and Hans Alexander Albrecht († 1795) were elevated to the rank of count by King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia on October 31, 1786. However, they died without male descendants, and so the family estate Gröben fell to the second Silesian line of the Counts of Schlabrendorf.
The daughter Henriette Helene Albertine (1747–1783) married the Prussian Freikorpsführer Karl Theophil Guichard (1724–1775) on January 3, 1771 .
