Gustav Franz Angelbis (born September 13, 1853 in Bonn , † February 13, 1889 in Berlin ) was a German geologist and petrologist at the Prussian Geological Institute (PGLA).

Angelbis, son of the businessman Franz Angelbis and his wife Helene Haas, received his doctorate in geology at the University of Bonn in 1877 (petrographic contributions) . From 1876 to 1886 he worked for the PGLA.

He mainly dealt with the geology and petrography of igneous rocks in the Rhineland and Hesse, for example the pumice stones and basalt and trachyte dome in the Westerwald , which he mapped with Ernst Heinrich von Dechen and which he examined petrographically, or with older igneous rocks such as the green stone in Hessen-Nassau ( Lahn-Dill area ). Among other things, he created the geological map (1: 25,000) of Montabaur (1882) and Marienberg (with Adolf Schneider, published 1891). Angelbis was a member of the German Geological Society .

Gustav Angelbis remained unmarried and died in Berlin in 1889 at the age of only 35.
