Gustav Eberty

Gustav Wilhelm Eberty (born July 2, 1806 in Berlin ; † February 23, 1887 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Eberty was baptized Protestant. He first studied theology and philosophy in Berlin and then political science, history and law in Berlin and Heidelberg. After his doctorate as Dr. iur. he worked as an assessor and judge in Görlitz , Halle (Saale) , Graudenz , Marienwerder and Wittenberg and from 1861 as a city judge in Berlin. He published on the prison system , arbitration courts and economic and literary topics and was editor of the magazine Reform from 1842 to 1846 .

In 1849 he was a member of the Second Prussian Chamber and then again from 1862 to 1867 for the constituency of Merseburg 7 (Wittenberg-Torgau), and from 1867 to 1879 for the constituency of Berlin 4. From 1874 to 1877 he represented the constituency of Berlin 4 for the Progress Party in the German Reichstag .
