Gustav König (politician)

Gustav König (born March 21, 1863 in Bern ; † March 26, 1934 there ) was a Swiss politician of the conservative democratic party.

Life

Gustav König was born in Bern on March 21, 1863 as the son of the lawyer and politician Karl Gustav König . From 1883 to 1889 he studied law at the Universities of Bern and Leipzig . In 1888 he passed the advocacy exam . In 1889 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur.

From 1888 he worked as a lawyer in Bern. In addition, he was used from 1893 to 1907 as a suppleant of the higher court . He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Mobiliarversicherungsgesellschaft and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Volksbank . He was also a member of the Great Citizens' Council of Bern and was Vice President of the Zunftgesellschaft zu Metzgern . His old age was overshadowed by the shaking of the Volksbank as a result of the global economic crisis .

Gustav König, who was married to the daughter of a Bernese notary , died on March 26, 1934 at the age of 71 in Bern.

politics

From 1892 to 1909, König represented the conservative democratic party in the Bern City Council and from 1902 to 1910 in the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . After the parliamentary elections in 1908 , he was a member of the National Council until 1914 , where he was a member of the free-thinking democratic faction.
