Rudolf Gustav Kühn (born September 11, 1872 in Guben , † after 1949 ) was a German teacher and landscape painter.

After passing his drawing teacher exam in 1897, he worked in this profession from 1899 to 1903 as well as a gymnastics teacher, first in Berlin and then at the Realgymnasium Frankenhausen (Kyffh.) .

In June 1903 Kühn came as an academic teacher for drawing and gymnastics at the large city school in Rostock , in 1912 he switched to the secondary school there. In addition to his school activity, he was also listed as a painter in the Rostock address books. Kühn worked mainly as a landscape painter and was represented with his works several times at the exhibitions in the Mecklenburg State Museum in Schwerin . The pictures had titles such as Afternoon on the Warnow, Rostock, Garten, Heiligendamm, Strandpartie or around 1939 in the exhibition of contemporary Mecklenburg artists Petritor in Rostock . Gustav Kühn was a member of the Rostock Artists Association founded in 1919 . The last reference to the painter is the information in the Rostock address book from 1949.

“Starting from a moderate impressionism, he likes to increase his palette to intense glowing colors, preferring eye-catching lighting effects in nature. Technically, he has turned to a spotting manner that is reminiscent of pointilism and does justice to the atmospheric of the sea areas very well. "
