Gustav Moritz Franz
Gustav Moritz Franz (born February 3, 1816 in Sosa , † May 26, 1899 in Dresden ) was a German Protestant theologian.
Life
From 1834 to 1837 he studied theology in Leipzig . After teaching positions in Langenhessen and in the Schindlerswerk blue color factory near Bockau , Franz accepted the only teaching position in the newly founded royal Saxon teachers' college Annaberg in 1842 as senior teacher . From 1847 to 1852 he was its first rector. After an intermezzo as a pastor in Grünstädtel, Franz worked as superintendent in Annaberg from 1856 to 1873 . He was then superintendent in Dresden until 1884 , where he died on May 26, 1899. He was buried in the Trinity Cemetery.
