Gustav Preyer (born May 3, 1801 in Wermelskirchen , † November 8, 1839 in Munich ) was a German landscape painter .
Life
He was the older brother of Louise Preyer and Johann Wilhelm Preyer and grew up in Eschweiler from 1813 .
Gustav Preyer was a student of Peter von Cornelius and Wilhelm von Schadow at the Royal Art Academy in Düsseldorf in the field of landscape art. In 1837 he went to Munich with his brother Johann Wilhelm Preyer and exhibited his work in the halls of the Munich Art Association . After a study trip in the Bavarian mountains in the summer of 1839, Gustav Preyer died in his studio in Munich.
