Gustav Ulshöfer

Karl Gustav Ulshöfer (born January 18, 1865 - † 1913 ) was a German gymnast and gymnastics festival winner in 1889.

Sporting activity

Gustav Ulshöfer received in 1885 in Dresden , then as a member of MTV Stuttgart , at the VI. German Gymnastics Festival of the German Gymnastics Association (DT) as 11th winner of one of 22 wreaths. His club mate Ludwig and Louis Jennewein sen. was at this event Gymnastics Festival winner and the winner of the Artistic Gymnastics disciplines of Eight struggle also German champion in gymnastics .

1889 - Gustav Ulshöfer was meanwhile a member of MTV Munich 1879 - he became German champion in eight-fight at the VII German Gymnastics Festival in Munich , which included athletic and gymnastics disciplines. In the context of the pure evaluation of the gymnastics disciplines of eight combat, Josef Henninger from Mainz was the best gymnast at this Munich gymnastics festival.

A plaque of honor from MTV Stuttgart from 1912 commemorates Louis Jennewein as well as Gustav Ulshöfer as the gymnastics festival winner, as they proudly showed that he received his main gymnastics training at the club. This plaque also shows that Ulshöfer was the winner of the Swabian District Gymnastics Festival in Ludwigsburg on August 2nd, 1886 .

Job and family

Ulshöfer was a businessman by profession. He was married to Berta Barbara Ulshöfer, née Merkle. In May 1892, their daughter Emilie (Bertha Karolina Mathilde), married Hangleiter, was born in Munich. Gustav Ulshöfer appears in the Munich address books in 1893 with the address Müllerstraße 22 . In 1894 his name appears for the first time in the Stuttgart address book, at that time with the address at Kernerstraße 28 . From 1896 he was registered at Christophstrasse 27 . In 1901, he was then in the King's Road 31B reported. The address book from 1905 shows that he is a partner in the company “Beier u. Leipprand “was. The address Senefelderstraße 22 appears for the first time in the address book from 1907 . In 1907 he opened a “specialty shop for women's clothes and silk fabrics” at Königstrasse 41 , which, according to the 1914 address book, was continued by his widow Berta Ulshöfer after his death. The commercial register files of the Stuttgart District Court for his business are in the State Archives Ludwigsburg department of the Baden-Württemberg State Archives .
