Gustaw Bujok (born May 16, 1937 in Wisła ; † June 15, 2017 in Cieszyn ) was a Polish skier who first competed in Nordic combined and later in ski jumping.

Career

Nordic combination

Bujok started Nordic skiing in 1950 in his hometown Wisła . He started with the Nordic Combined and practiced this sport until the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1958 , where he landed on 36th place in the individual.

Ski jumping

After the 1958 World Cup, Bujok concentrated on ski jumping . At the Four Hills Tournament 1961/62 he started for the first time on an international level with the special jumpers. Already at the opening competition in Oberstdorf he reached 14th place and thus also the best individual result of his career. In the following competitions he could not build on this success and finished the tour in 24th place overall.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 , Bujok jumped from the normal hill to seventh and from the large hill to 26th.

On his second Four Hills Tournament in 1962/63 he was able to repeat his performances from the previous year as far as possible and in the end reached rank 25 in the overall ranking. The best individual result was a 16th place on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck . In the following year at the Four Hills Tournament 1963/64 Bujok started only in three of four competitions and finished 34th in the overall tournament ranking.
