György Udvardy (born May 14, 1960 in Balassagyarmat ) is a Hungarian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Veszprém .

Life

György udvardy received on 15 June 1985 by Cardinal László Lékai the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Esztergom .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Marazanae and auxiliary bishop in Esztergom-Budapest on January 24, 2004 . The Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, Cardinal Péter Erdő , donated him the episcopal ordination on February 21 of the same year; Co- consecrators were senior archbishop László Cardinal Paskai and the apostolic nuncio in Hungary, Archbishop Juliusz Janusz . Until 2011 he was also vicar general under Cardinal Erdő .

On April 9, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Udvardy as bishop of Pécs . The inauguration took place in the same month.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Veszprém on July 12, 2019. The inauguration took place on August 31 of the same year.
