Lorepa Wangchug Tsöndru ( Tib .: lo ras pa dbang phyug brtson 'grus ; born 1187 ; born 1250 ) was the founder of the Lower Drugpa Tradition ( smad' brug ) of the Drugpa Kagyü School of Tibetan Buddhism . He was a student of Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje ( gtsang pa rgya ras ye shes rdo rje ; 1161-1211).
Jamyang Gönpo ( 'jam dbyangs mgon po ) was one of his famous students.
