biography

society

As far as understandable, Pulido, who was born near La Piedad , began his professional career in the 1962/63 season with CF La Piedad , for whom he played in the second division . Coach Jorge Marik from league competitor Cruz Azul noticed his talent and brought him to Jasso at the end of the season .

At the end of the 1963/64 season, Pulido rose to the first division with Cruz Azul , where the newcomer developed into a permanent fixture from the start and soon became an outstanding top team that won the Mexican championship five times between 1969 and 1974 .

In 1977 he moved to Club Jalisco in Guadalajara , where he ended his active career in 1979.

Today, Pulido is again under contract with Cruz Azul as coordinator in the junior division.

National team

In 1968 he took part with the amateur team in the Olympic soccer tournament in Mexico. He scored three goals and is thus together with Vicente Pereda (who also scored 3 goals in 1968) and Víctor Rangel , who succeeded in 1976, Mexican record scorer at the Olympic Games. The team played in the game for bronze, which was lost 2-0 to Japan in front of a record crowd of 105,000 spectators.

Between 1967 and 1973 he was a total of 43 times for the Mexican national soccer team. Pulido was appointed to the national team for the first time in 1966, when he was part of the World Cup squad that represented Mexico at the World Cup in England. Here he was still without action and made his debut in the dress of the national team on January 8, 1967 in a friendly against Switzerland, which was lost 2-0.

At the 1970 World Cup, which was held in his own country, he played in the games against the Soviet Union (0-0), Belgium (1-0) and Italy (1: 4) and was only absent in the second round match against El Salvador (4-0) .

His last international match was on December 18, 1973 in the last game of the World Cup qualifying against Haiti. Despite the 1-0 victory of the Mexicans, the Haitians qualified for the 1974 World Cup because Mexico had previously only drawn against Guatemala (0-0) and Honduras (1: 1) and a solid 0: 4- against Trinidad & Tobago. Related defeat. At least in the defeat Pulido was not in the slightest complicit; because in this game he was not used, while he was involved in the other four group games.

Pulido scored a total of six goals for his home country. His only "double" he achieved on September 29, 1968 in a 3-0 win against Ethiopia.
