Hélène Viard (* before 1970 - January 29, 2005 ) was a French film editor .

Life

Hélène Viard worked as a script girl and editor in the film business from the 1970s . As a script girl, she was used in the filming of Bertrand Blier's Die Ausgebufften (1974) and Maurice Pialat's Der Loulou (1980). One of her first major works as a film editor was Jean-Loup Hubert's comedy Marry Me Not, Chérie (1981) with Isabelle Adjani , which was followed in 1984 by another Hubert comedy called La smala . That same year Viard was the average of Gérard Depardieu's directorial debut, the Molière film version tartuffe Le jurisdiction. Viard also worked with director Maurice Pialat on the biography Van Gogh , in which Jacques Dutronc played the title role.

For Patrice Chéreau's historical film Die Bartholomäusnacht (1994), Viard and François Gédigier received a nomination for César in the Best Editing category . Viard has been involved in several films by Pierre Salvadori as an editor, in each of which Guillaume Depardieu played a leading role: The Killer and the Girl (1993), The Beginners (1995) and Lies As Printed (1998).

Hélène Viard died of cancer in 2005. Her grave is on the Parisian cemetery Pere Lachaise .
