The parish church is a late Gothic hall building with a baroque extension and a new tower from 1745 to 1748 by Silvester Mayrhofer. The municipality of Hölsbrunn was founded on the basis of the tax district of the same name by the Bavarian municipal edict in 1818. Like the tax district in addition to Hölsbrunn, the community included the places Bachham, Buchberg, Edenkatzbach, Geiging, Großhochreit (Hochreit), Hinzing, Holzhäuseln, Hub, Huttenkofen, Kleinhochreit, Langenkatzbach, Mailing, Öd, Pading, Racksdorf, Radlkofen, Sackstetten, Schattenkirchen, Scheuering , Thalkofen, Vorrach and Wiesbach. Only the village of Johannesbrunn became an indirect patrimonial community . Kleinhochreit, Großhochreit and Vorrach came to the community of Schalkham on April 1st . On May 1st, 1978 Hölsbrunn was incorporated into Gangkofen.
