The broadcast Hörbilder is next to the broadcast Tonspuren - Hörbilder zur Literatur the most prominent broadcast space of the feature editorial team of Austria 1 (Ö1).

The series started in 1977. It is currently broadcast every Saturday between 9:05 and 10 am in the “Austria 1” program, and on public holidays between 10:05 and 11 am. ORF features are usually broadcast, but co-productions and German productions are also regularly broadcast.

Well-known Austrian feature authors from the very beginning included: Richard Goll , Alfredreiber , Bert Breit , Robert Weichinger and Peter Klein .

The feature authors Elisabeth Stratka and Eva Roither have taken over the management of the Hörbilder editorial team from Peter Klein since 2006 .

Between 1977 and 1995, insisted on the Popwelle Ö3 the series head listeners for many of the on Ö1 in the series acoustic images were taken broadcast productions.
