Hülya Avşar
Hülya Avşar (born October 10, 1963 in Balıkesir ) is a Turkish actress and singer .
life and career
Avşar was born to a Turkish woman and a Kurd . Her mother Emral was a nurse from Balıkesir , whom Hülya's future father Celal Avşar met during an internship in Kars . Her paternal uncle Fevzi Avşar was one of the defendants in the 49th trial . Hülya Avşar is the parents' oldest child. The family later moved to Ankara , where many of the father's family live. In 1980 Hülya Avşar married for the first time and moved to Antakya with her husband . The marriage ended after a short time.
For the first time, Hülya Avşar stood in front of the camera for a shampoo advertisement. In 1982 she won a beauty contest in Istanbul , but the prize was stripped of her because she was still married. This scandal brought her a lot of attention and gave her career a big boost. In 1983 she played her first role in the film Haram . This was the beginning of her acting career, in the following years she starred in over 70 films and several television series.
Since 1988 she has also published music albums. In 1993 she won a silver St. George at the Moscow Film Festival for best actress for her role in the film Berlin in Berlin .
She was later married to producer Kaya Çilingiroğlu, but separated from him in 2005.
She writes for the monthly magazine "Hülya" named after her and hosts her own television show, the Hülya Avşar Show . A perfume brand and a tennis tournament are also named after her.
From 2011 to 2013 she was a jury member of the Turkish casting show O Ses Türkiye and until 2014 a jury member of the Turkish casting show Yetenek Sizsiniz Türkiye .
