The H. Geiger stone and gravel Werke GmbH is a building materials group based in Pfraundorf in Kinding in the Upper Bavarian district Eichstätt .

history

The company was founded in 1929 by Hermann Geiger as a quarry and gravel company.

The company produces crushed stone and quarries Jura marble in four quarries. The largest quarry is still the one at the headquarters in Pfaundorf. With a mining area of ​​55 hectares, it is the largest quarry in Bavaria. In 1978 the quarry near Sindlbach in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate was acquired. Four years later, in 1982, the quarry in Ittling near Simmelsdorf was taken over . In 2009 the dolomite quarry in the Wasserzell district of the city of Eichstätt was taken over.

Push construction

Pusch Bau was founded in Regensburg in 1950 . In 1975 the construction company was taken over by the Geiger Group. Five years later, the headquarters of Pusch-Bau was relocated to the Geiger site in Pfraundorf. The company is particularly active in road and asphalt construction.

Zeidler & Wimmel

The stonemason and natural stone company based in Kirchheim in Lower Franconia was acquired by the Geiger Group in 2004. It was previously part of Philipp Holzmann AG .

Other companies

Geiger has been operating an asphalt mixing plant in Großmehring through IAM Ingolstädter Asphaltmischwerke GmbH & Co. KG since 1981 . The Max Balz GmbH & Co. operates a natural stone quarry in Pappenheim and since 2005 a subsidiary of the Geiger group. Betonwerk Freystadt GmbH & Co. KG has been a 100% subsidiary since 2006 , after 50% of the shares belonged to the Geiger Group since 1995.
