The HTC Legend , the successor to the HTC Hero , is a smartphone with the Android 2.2 operating system , manufactured by the HTC Corporation . It was announced on February 16, 2010 and has been on the market in Europe since April 2010.
The Legend is powered by a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor and has 384 MB RAM . The internal memory is 512 MB and can be expanded with microSD cards. It has UMTS with HSPA , WLAN and Bluetooth 2.1. It also has an FM radio , a GPS receiver, an acceleration sensor and a digital compass .
The Legend's case is milled from a single solid block of aluminum. It uses a 8.1 cm (3.2 inches ) wide AMOLED - multi-touch screen and a 5 megapixel camera. The antenna is located under a plastic cover on the lower part of the housing, under which the replaceable lithium-polymer battery , the microSD and SIM card are also located. This guarantees good reception despite the metal housing.
The Legend comes with Android 2.2 (initially Android 2.1), which HTC has expanded with its own Sense user interface . It is a further development of the HTC Touch surface and is also used on the Windows smartphone HTC HD2 as well as on the Android smartphones HTC Hero and HTC Desire . Sense brings various apps and widgets , such as its own email client and audio player .
