Hademar "Hadschi" Bankhofer jun. (Born October 18, 1971 in Klosterneuburg near Vienna ) is an Austrian moderator and journalist . He is best known for his moderation at Radio Vienna .

Life

Hadschi Bankhofer is the son of the medical journalist Hademar Bankhofer . He attended elementary school and high school in Klosterneuburg and completed an apprenticeship as a photo businessman.

During his time in the armed forces, Bankhofer applied to numerous larger newspapers and also to ORF , where, after a casting, he got the chance to work as an editorial assistant for the children's radio on Radio Vienna . At Radio Vienna, Bankhofer met the well-known Austrian radio star Hary Raithofer , who became his mentor, taught him the "craft" of radio and finally gave him the stage name "Hadschi Bankhofer", which has remained with him to this day.

Hadschi Bankhofer can be heard every day since 1992 on Radio Wien, where he reports as a "mad reporter" with live entries that are kept in the style of classic uncut live radio reports. Bankhofer is on the road between 5 and 9 every day in a specially equipped radio car. From 1996 to 1999 he was an Ö3 reporter.

In the years 2000–2003, Bankhofer moderated several programs on ATV, including a talk show called Speed, which was very well known due to the unusual and rather ironic presentation (Bankhofer called it a satirical on talk shows). In addition to his work as a presenter, Hadschi Bankhofer was seen repeatedly in small guest roles in Austrian TV series ( Kaisermühlen Blues , SOKO Donau , “Splash!”). He is the author of two books.

Bankhofer has also moderated the ORF radio program "People in Conversation" at irregular intervals since 2017, in which he interviews outstanding personalities for an hour. Since 2017, Bankhofer has also been co-moderator of the morning program "Guten Morgen, Wien" for Radio Wien alongside Leila Mahdavian and is often also on the air as a traffic expert. In the summer of 2018, he also presented the scientific radio program Gruber's Universum with physicist Werner Gruber , and in September 2018 he interviewed numerous doctors and scientists on medical topics as part of the Health Month on Radio Vienna.

Hadschi Bankhofer is married for the second time and has four children (Florian, Letizia, Jana Theresa, Sophie Liselotte), two of them from their first marriage.
