Hadija Haruna-Oelker (* 1980 ) is a German political scientist , journalist and presenter .

Life

After graduating from the Schillerschule Frankfurt, Haruna-Oelker studied political science at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 2000 to 2006 with the minor subjects economics, African studies and sociology. She then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Political Sociology in Frankfurt with a focus on developing country research and at the Chair of Sociology with a focus on migration research . From 2008 to 2009 she graduated from the Berlin School of Journalism . From 2014 to 2015 she trained as a moderator at the Institute for Moderation (imo) at the Stuttgart Media University .

Hadija Haruna Oelker has been working as a freelance journalist for Hessischer Rundfunk ( Der Tag (hr2 Kultur), You FM and hr3 ) since 2008 . She wrote u. a. for the Tagesspiegel , Die Zeit und fluter . During her studies she worked for the Frankfurt city magazine FRIZZ and planet radio ( Hit Radio FFH ). Her work focuses on youth, social affairs, migration, racism research and the identity of the black diaspora in Germany. Haruna-Oelker publishes and gives lectures on her main topics. She moderates panel discussions, specialist conferences and meetings for various clients. She also offers workshops on the power of language and (critical) journalism with a focus on migration and displacement. For the Federal Agency for Civic Education she wrote a. a. In 2015 an article about the refugee and intensive care offender Yehya E. , whose story was also filmed in the documentary Gangsterläufer by Christian Stahl .

Haruna-Oelker is also active in the initiative Black People in Germany (ISD) and the journalist network Neue Deutsche Medienmacher (NdM).
