geography

course

The Hahnenklamm arises as a confluence of two streams with the same name, which do not arise not far from the confluence. From there it flows mainly towards the south. After the inflow of the Kappelsbach, it then flows in a south-westerly direction until the Taubenbrunnen flows into it. From there the Hahnenklamm flows to the edge of the settlement of Bübingen in a north-westerly direction and follows this until it flows into the Saar. The Hahnenklamm runs largely on the border with the town of Kleinblittersdorf .

Tributaries

  • Röderbach ( left ), 0.2 km
  • Kappelsbach ( left ), 0.4 km
  • Taubenbrunnen ( left ), 0.5 km

geology

The Hahnenklamm flows through a geologically special gorge. On the right side there is a layer of shell limestone on which beech trees grow. On the other hand there are rocks made of red sandstone on the left .

Drinking water

There are two boreholes at the Hahnenklamm, each with a depth of 154 meters and 180 meters. Drinking water is obtained from these boreholes for the two districts of Bliesransbach and Kleinblittersdorf in the municipality of the same name. Before the drinking water reaches the community, it is pumped into an underground water tank with filter systems on the Kappelberg .
