Haidgau is a district of Bad Wurzach in the Ravensburg district .
history
Haidgau was first mentioned in a document in 797 and is therefore one of the oldest settlements in Upper Swabia . There used to be a peat mining company on the site , the field railway and buildings of which have largely been preserved and are made accessible by the peat railway in the Wurzacher Ried . Access to the Wurzacher Ried is also possible from Haidgau .
On January 1, 1973, Haidgau was incorporated into Bad Wurzach.
Buildings
The parish church of St. Nikolaus is located in Haidgau . The ecclesiastical community is part of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben deanery in the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese. The place has a primary school and kindergarten. There is a shawm group (D´Hoigamer Schtroßa hup`r eV), a music association, a fool's guild and a blood rider group in the village .
