Hailey Swirbul (born July 10, 1998 ) is an American cross-country skier .

Career

Swirbul started in Aspen in February 2013 for the first time in the US Super Tour and took fourth place over 5 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty she came in 40th place in sprint, 35th place in skiathlon and eighth place with the relay. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in February 2017 in Soldier Hollow , she won the bronze medal with the relay. She also achieved 31st place in the 5 km freestyle and 24th place in the skiathlon. In the following year she won the bronze medal in the skiathlon and the silver medal over 5 km classic at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Goms . With the season she was eighth there. In the 2018/19 season she achieved eight top ten placements, ninth place in the overall ranking of the US Super Tour. In January 2019, she took part in the World Cup in Dresden for the first time and came 41st in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , she came in 26th place over 10 km freestyle, 24th place in sprint and tenth place in 10 km mass start race. At the Alpine Cup in Le Brassus in March 2019 , she took third place over 10 km freestyle and second place in the pursuit and in Oberwiesenthal third place in the pursuit. After finishing 54th in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she took her first World Cup points in Davos with 30th place in the sprint and 21st place over 10 km freestyle. At the beginning of January 2020 she became US champion in the sprint and the 20 km classic in Houghton . Her best placings at the U23 World Championships 2020 in Oberwiesenthal were seventh place over 10 km classic and fifth place with the relay.
