Hajo Wulff (born June 7, 1972 in Husum ) is a former German handball player and coach .

Career

Wulff made his debut in the 1990/91 season for VfL Bad Schwartau in the Bundesliga , to which he had switched as an A-youth. Before that he was active in the youth departments of TSV Altenholz and THW Kiel . Since he was rarely used overall, however, he moved to the regional league for TV Gut Heil Billstedt in 1992. After one season, the second division TSV GWD Minden signed him . After the missed promotion in the 1993/94 season , it worked the following year. In the penultimate game of the season, however, Wulff tore his cruciate ligament. He had previously announced his move to the Bundesliga club SG VfL / BHW Hameln . In 1996 he stood with the club in the final of the Euro City Cup , where they were defeated by the Norwegian team from Drammen HK . After another knee operation, Wulff was loaned to second division TSG Bielefeld for the 1997/98 season. During his absence, Hameln was relegated from the Bundesliga. Wulff returned and was able to celebrate the rise in 2000. Then he joined Frisch Auf Göppingen , with whom he made his third Bundesliga promotion in 2001. In 2003 Wulff went back to Hameln . The team, which in the meantime appeared as SG Hameln 2002, now only played in the regional league. After his second cruciate ligament tear in December 2007, he ended his active career. In March 2011 he made a brief comeback in the club's fourth team.

From January 2009 to summer 2011 he coached the first team at VfL Hameln. He could no longer prevent relegation from the regional league in the 2009/10 season.

Wulff wore the jersey of the German national team twice . However, he could not score a goal. Both games took place as part of the 1993 Supercup . He also ran several times for the junior national team.
