Hakim Ludin

Hakim Ludin (born May 6, 1955 in Kabul ) is an Afghan percussionist .

Life

He received tabla lessons in Afghanistan for six years . Ludin came to Germany in 1975; he played with the avant-garde group Sohra and in several jazz and rock formations. From 1981 he studied drums and percussion (graduated as a qualified orchestra musician) at the Karlsruhe University of Music . He worked with the hr big band , Jeff Hamilton , Daniel Messina , Jonas Hellborg , Terry Bozzio , Alex Acuña and as a studio musician. He has published textbooks on Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian rhythms and performs as a solo percussionist.

Ludin plays in the following projects:

  • the World Percussion Trio ,
  • at Planet Lounge ,
  • in a trio with Patrick Bebelaar and Frank Kroll as well
  • in the duo Florian Meierott.

He went on tour with Konstantin Wecker to present the album Am Flussufer (2005). In 2010 Ludin went on the "No End in Sight" tour with Hannes Wader , Konstantin Wecker, Nils Tuxen and Jo Barnikel .
