Halloween Twins, Now They Witch Double It is an American family film directed by Stuart Margolin from 1993.

action

At a Halloween party, the farmer twins Kelly and Lynn get a magic wand from the clown Oscar . Since he only has one, they have to share it. The two are not at all enthusiastic about that, because they "always" have to share everything.

Since her father Don's business is not going very well, he wants to borrow money from his aunt Agatha. But she doesn't even think about helping the family. Kelly and Lynn learn from a gravedigger that their aunt is a twin just like them . As a child she found a magical moonstone and did not share it with her sister Sophia. From then on Agatha never shared anything with her and when Sophia wanted to leave Agatha, she got angry and banished Sophia to a mirror .

The twins decide to share everything from now on and they want to help good aunt Sophia. So go looking for the moonstone, because it can break the curse. But they only have until midnight on Halloween , when the curse will last forever.

The two outsmart their parents by swapping their Halloween costumes with other children and set off. The magic wand helps them on the adventurous search for the moonstone, as it actually contains some magical power. They are also supported by Mr. N, a homeless man who wants to be rich. The diminutive magic clown Oscar and the somewhat cowardly gravedigger also help them.

After a few entanglements, they finally manage to free Aunt Sophia, while the angry Aunt Agatha is banished in the mirror. Mr. N has learned that money is not everything; Oscar understands that you can be great even if you are not physically tall, while the gravedigger has learned that you can be afraid but still be able to stand up.

Reviews

“The modern fairy tale, with its gentle horror and naive fun, is not awkwardly prepared for a young audience. Only very young children may be unsettled by the witchcraft. ” Lex. Of the
boarding school. Films

“Scary film for very young children. Director Stuart Margolin ("Neon Rider") mixes quotes from classic fairy tales with muted horror motifs. The acting talent of the almost five-year-old main actors is kept within a corresponding framework. Movie fans who can't get enough of toddlers knocking on their mouths increase the potential clientele, but the qualities of a “Dennis” or “Kevin” are never achieved here. ”
