The Halmstad Hammers (also known as Halmstad HC ) were a Swedish ice hockey club based in Halmstad .
history
The association was founded in 1967 under the name Halmstads HK. The team played from 1975 to 1980 in Division 1, which was still second class at the time . From the 1999/2000 season , the team took part in Division 1, which is now third class. In the 2000/01 season Halmstad prevailed in the relegation and rose to the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . The team was able to establish itself there in the following years. Following the 2004/05 season , however, the team went bankrupt. A year later, the successor club Halmstad HF was founded.
