Pål Grotnes (born March 7, 1977 in Lørenskog ) is a Norwegian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Stjernen in the Norwegian GET league since 2008 .

Career

Pål Grotnes began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the Swedish first division club Västra Frölunda HC , where he was the third goalkeeper from 1995 to 1997, but was not used in the Elitserien or in the European Hockey League . The 1997/98 season ended the goalkeeper at IF Mölndal Hockey in the then third-class Division 2. He then played for more than four years in his Norwegian homeland for Stjernen Hockey in the Norwegian Eliteserien , where he became a regular goalkeeper. He spent most of the 2002/03 season at the Clermont-Auvergne Hockey Club in the French Ligue Magnus .

From 2003 to 2006 Grotnes stood for Halmstad Hammers and Växjö Lakers Hockey from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, between the posts. He then returned to the GET league in Norway, where he was under contract with IK Comet for two years . In 2008 he reached the playoff semi-finals with Comet for the first time in the club's history. Since the 2008/09 season Pål Grotnes has been playing for his ex-club Stjernen Hockey.

International

For Norway , Grotnes took part in the B World Cup in 2005 and the A World Championships in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . Furthermore, he was in his country's squad at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and previously in the qualification for these.
