Emilio Layon Bataclan

Emilio Layon Bataclan (born September 20, 1940 in Parañaque City , Philippines ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Cebu .

Life

Emilio Layon Bataclan was ordained a priest on May 1, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Gunela and auxiliary bishop in Cebu on February 24, 1990 . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on April 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Leopoldo Sumaylo Tumulak , auxiliary bishop in Cebu, and Camilo Diaz Gregorio , bishop of Bacolod .

On May 3, 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Iligan . On June 21, 2004, John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Septimunicia and auxiliary bishop in Cebu.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 1, 2015.
