Camilo Diaz Gregorio

Camilo Diaz Gregorio (born September 25, 1939 in Cuyapo ; † May 21, 2018 in San Juan City ) was a Filipino Roman Catholic clergyman and prelate of Batanes .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Rome , Luigi Cardinal Traglia , ordained him a priest on December 1, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Cebu and titular bishop of Girus on January 12, 1987 . The episcopal ordination donated him the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop José Tomás Sánchez , on March 29 of that year; Co- consecrators were Cesare Zacchi , President Emeritus of the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy , and Antônio do Carmo Cheuiche OCD , Auxiliary Bishop in Porto Alegre .

He was appointed Bishop of Bacolod on May 20, 1989, and was introduced to the office on July 27 of the same year. He resigned from his position on August 28, 2000. On September 13, 2003, he was appointed prelate of Batanes by John Paul II.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 20, 2017.
