Jose Paala Salazar

Jose Paala Salazar OP (born March 13, 1937 in Manila , † May 30, 2004 ) was auxiliary bishop in Lipa .

Life

Jose Paala Salazar joined the Dominican Order, made profession on June 15, 1960 and was ordained a priest on May 9, 1968 .

John Paul II named him Prelate of Batanes and the Babuyan Islands on April 25, 1996 . The Archbishop of Manila , Jaime Lachica Cardinal Sin , donated him episcopal ordination on June 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Diosdado Aenlle Talamayan , Archbishop of Tuguegarao , and Leonardo Zamora Legaspi OP, Archbishop of Caceres .

The Pope appointed him auxiliary bishop in Butuan and titular bishop of Hippo Diarrhytus on November 23, 2002 . On June 11, 2003, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Lipa .
