Vicente Macanan Navarre

Vicente Macanan Navarra (born January 22, 1939 in Mambusao ) is a Filipino clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Bacolod .

Life

Vicente Macanan Navarra was ordained a priest on April 7, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Capiz and titular bishop of Velefi on April 23, 1979 . He received his episcopal ordination on June 26th of the same year by the Archbishop of Capiz, Antonio José Frondosa ; Co - consecrators were Amado Paulino y Hernandez , auxiliary bishop in Manila , and Alberto Jover Piamonte , auxiliary bishop in Jaro .

On November 21, 1987 he was appointed the first bishop of the newly established diocese of Kabankalan . On May 24, 2001 he was appointed Bishop of Bacolod .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 24, 2016.
