The Hangquellmoor near Weihe is a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Hanstedt in the joint municipality of Hanstedt in the Harburg district .
The former nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 165 is 5.3 hectares in size. Part of the area is part of the FFH area "Seeve". The area has been under nature protection since May 16, 1988. On July 1, 2019, the newly designated " Seeve " nature reserve opened up. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the district of Harburg.
The former nature reserve is located in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park, southeast of Holm-Seppensen, which belongs to Buchholz in the Nordheide, and north of the Schierhorn district, which belongs to Hanstedt, on the eastern slope of the Seeveniederung. The area extends to the Seeve . It was a result of spring water outlets Resulting slope Quellmoor under protection. The area is characterized by alder forest and in the higher and drier locations by birch-oak forest . Tall herbaceous meadows can be found in the edge areas of the area .
In the area there are several former fish ponds , which are to develop into near-natural still waters, whereby extensive, fishing use of the ponds is still permitted. It is not permitted to enter the area, except for the performance of official or scientific tasks and for the maintenance and management of the pond systems.
