Hänner is a district of the municipality of Murg in the extreme southwest of Germany. It has around 1200 inhabitants and is between 550 m and 705 m above sea level. NN . Hänner covers an area of around 820 hectares.
geography
Hänner is located on the southern edge of the Black Forest , around six kilometers north of the Swiss border in the Hotzenwald . An artificially created watercourse, the Hännemer Wühre, flows through the village . Hänner is a heaped village . The houses along Landstrasse 151 and in the immediate vicinity of the church are mostly older houses that were built before the Second World War , while larger development areas have emerged in the northwest and southeast. In the north the village is bounded by the Hännemer Forest , which at the same time represents the geological boundary between the gneiss area of the front Hotzenwald and the upper red sandstone area.
history
It is assumed that Hänner was settled for the first time during the first Alemannic settlement period around 700 AD.
The first mention of the place is contained in a document from June 17, 1240, in which a Henrico de Henere is mentioned as pastor ( plebani ). At that time, Hänner still belonged to the Säckingen women's monastery . With the unification of the county of Hauenstein from 1433 and the principle of peasant self-government contained therein, the parish of Hänner became part of the Murg unification. Up until the beginning of industrialization , agriculture and the businesses located on the Hännemer Wühre , such as forges, saws and mills, formed the basis of the economy. The sawmills in Hänner, which are still numerous today, bear witness to this time. The later industrialization, especially in the places on the Rhine , also made it possible for many people to find work in the emerging textile industry. The Hänner parish - one of the oldest in the Hotzenwald - became independent after the church reorganization in 1695 and also included the Oberhof community .
On January 1, 1973, Hänner was incorporated into the municipality of Murg.
Traffic situation
The town is connected to the main traffic routes along the Rhine and the neighboring towns of Hottingen and Oberhof by the state road 151 , as well as being connected to the town of Rotzel by smaller side streets .
Attractions
The partly old Black Forest houses and the baroque church in the town center are interesting for visitors.
Personalities
In Hänner, the writer Elisabeth Walter lived and taught at the local school for a while, where she wrote her best-known book “Little Schmiedledick's Adventurous Journey with the Gypsies” , which is partly set in the vicinity of Hänner.
