Hanni Schaaf

Hanni Schaaf (born November 11, 1933 in Cologne ) is a German writer .

Life

After attending elementary school from 1940 to 1948 , Hanni Schaaf completed a commercial apprenticeship and then worked as an office worker and industrial clerk. In the 1970s she began to write literary texts as part of the work group "Literature of the Working World" . After passing a special examination , she studied pedagogy at the Cologne University of Education from 1974 ; she finished her studies in 1980 with the first state examination . She has been a freelance writer since 1985 . She lives in Cologne .

Hanni Schaaf is the author of novels and short stories for young people . She is a member of the Association of German Writers and the Literary Society of Cologne . In 1977 she received the Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize and in 1983 the Rolf Dieter Brinkmann grant from the city of Cologne .
