Hans-Ernst Mittig (born May 10, 1933 in Hamburg ; † October 10, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German university professor for art history .

Life

Mittig received his doctorate in 1967 in Hamburg; In 1970 he went to Berlin, initially as an assistant at the Technical University of Berlin . From 1974 he was professor for art history at the Pedagogical University in Berlin . With the dissolution of the University of Education, he moved to the University of the Arts , where he worked as a university professor for art history until 1997.

In 1968, Mittig was a co-founder of the Ulm Association . Midway died at the age of 81 and was buried in the Hamburg cemetery Ohlsdorf (grave location W 6 420-21).
