Hans-Heinz Hinzelmann
Hans-Heinz Hinzelmann (born April 3, 1889 in Lübeck , † June 25, 1970 in Berlin ) was a theater director and librettist .
Life
Hans-Heinz Hinzelmann studied in Jena and Bonn . He became a theater director and freelance writer, first in Hamburg and later in Berlin . In March 1938 he fled into exile in Shanghai to avoid the Holocaust . He opens a photo shop in town. He later joined partisans and took part in guerrilla actions. Approx. In 1949 he returned to Germany.
In his two choir books O China. Country on old ways and Chinese and foreign devils describes Hinzelmann's exile life as a Jew in Shanghai in the 30s and 40s.
