Hans-Hermann Sieling (born June 24, 1917 in Bremen ; † February 6, 1991 in Bremen) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

education and profession

Sieling attended the Dechanatstraße secondary school in Bremen. After graduating from high school, he had to do military service and was seriously wounded (he lost his arm) in Romania during World War II in 1944 . From 1945 to 1950 he studied natural sciences at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate in Göttingen. rer. nat. with a thesis on the influence of the Gulf Stream on our climate. He then served as a teacher and most recently director of studies at Hermann-Böse-Gymnasium active in Bremen. He was a member of the board of directors of the German Association of Philologists .

politics

In the 1950s Sieling became a member of the CDU. He was active in various party functions in Bremen, including as state chairman of the CDU / CSU local authority association and as deputy chairman of the CDU district association in Bremen. From October 13, 1963 to 1987 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship and there a member of the education and science deputation. From 1963 to 1971 he was elected to succeed Karl Krammig as chairman of the CDU parliamentary group; Günter Klein followed him . From 1971 to 1979 he was deputy group chairman.

Honors

The Hans-Hermann-Sieling-Straße in Bremen-Grohn was named after him in 1999.
