Peter Kudella

Peter Kudella (born September 20, 1941 in Guttentag , Upper Silesia , † July 18, 2010 ) was a German administrative employee , professional soldier and politician ( CDU ).

biography

education and profession

Kudella completed an administration apprenticeship with a health insurance association and then worked initially as a regular soldier in the armed forces , later as a professional soldier .

politics

In 1964 he joined the CDU. In 1975 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship . From 1979 he was chairman of the Bremen State Association of Christian Democratic Workers (CDA); from 1983 to 1989 he was Deputy Federal Chairman of the CDA. He headed the investigative committee into the hostage-taking of Gladbeck in August 1988, in which a 16-year-old boy was shot in a Bremen bus. From 1989 to 1995 he was the successor to Reinhard Metz chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the citizenry. The focus of his political work was on the economy , labor and building policy . In 1995 Ronald-Mike Neumeyer succeeded him in the parliamentary group chairmanship .

After the formation of the grand coalition in Bremen in May 1995, he renounced his citizenship mandate, which he held for a total of twenty years, and gradually withdrew from active politics. Kudella was considered a "lateral thinker [...] who had his own head and inner independence" and was asked for his "ability to resolve conflicts" even after he left daily politics, according to Christian Weber ( SPD ), President of the City Council in his obituary . Among other things , Kudella moderated between the municipality of Bremen and affected citizens when it came to the renovation of the Waller Fleet allotment garden area in 2002 , and from 2004–2006 the construction of the Weser tunnel near Seehausen .

Further memberships

He was a member of the board of the Bremen Community Foundation from its establishment in 2002 until his death; Among other things, he developed and supervised the project “Conflict Management in Schools”.
