Hans-Joachim Hacker (historian)

Hans-Joachim Hacker (* 1948 ) is a German historian , archivist and former director of the Stralsund City Archives .

Life

Hans-Joachim Hacker studied history at the University of Greifswald and was here in 1982 with a (only typed spread) Dissertation A on the city of Stralsund in the early Swedish period (1630-1690) Dr. phil. PhD.

From June 1984 he was head of the socialism department in the Stralsund city archive . After Herbert Ewe , director of the archives for many years, retired , Hacker succeeded him in 1986. On November 27, 2009, he went into passive partial retirement .

His successor, both in 1986 in the management of the socialism department and in 2009 in the management of the archive, was his former student and later deputy Regina Nehmzow , who was suspended from work in 2012 in the course of investigations into the sale of the grammar school library. In this context, Hans-Joachim Hacker stated at the end of November 2012 that the sale, which had met with strong protest, was a legal error, but not a technical one, and that the sale of the books was contrary to the opinion of the experts Nigel F. Palmer and Jürgen Wolf does not mean a cultural loss for the Hanseatic city .
