Harry Hardenberg

Harry Hardenberg (born August 8, 1935 in Stralsund ) is a German photographer .

Life

Hardenberg grew up in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund; to her he also dedicated his photographic work.

After an apprenticeship as a painter , he worked as a painter's journeyman at the Stralsund shipyard . 1956 began his photographic work. Hardenberg initially photographed mainly in black and white, which underlined the authenticity of his pictures. In the 1960s he met the Stralsund archivist Herbert Ewe , who was looking for pictures of the shipyard for one of his books on Stralsund - and found them at Hardenberg.

1969 Hardenberg began a correspondence course at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig , which this 1974 with the diploma of a photo graphic completed. In 1972 the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) awarded him the Artiste FIAP (AFIAP) award.

From 1970 he worked as a photo reporter . 1974 admission to the Association of Visual Artists. 1981 co-founder of the central photography working group in the VBK.

Since 1984 he has been working as a freelance artist.

Hardenberg not only photographed in his hometown Stralsund, but also in the region around Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Study trips took him to China , the USA , England , Romania , Poland , Syria , France and Russia, among others .

In 1993 he was given a teaching position at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald .

He is a founding member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Artists' Association .

His works have been shown in numerous international and national exhibitions, and pictures of him have been published in over 140 books.

He is married and has three children.
