Hans-Jochen Markmann (born October 11, 1930 in Leipzig ; † February 7, 2010 in Berlin ) was a German historian who published essays and books on the time of National Socialism .

Life

Markmann completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer from 1946 to 1949 and studied history and education at the Berlin-Lankwitz University of Education from 1958 to 1962 . Since 1971 he was senior scientific adviser at the Pedagogical Center Berlin and taught at the Technical University of Berlin . He was married to Irmtraud Editha Markmann since 1961 († 2009). Hans-Jochen Markmann died in 2010 of complications from cancer.
