Hans-Ulrich Kruger

Hans-Ulrich Krüger (born April 7, 1952 in Lemgo ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From July 15, 2010 to October 2013, he was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Local Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 2002 to 2009 and from 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the Bundestag .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1971 at Engelbert-Kaempfer-Gymnasium in Lemgo, Krüger completed a law degree , which he completed in 1979 with the first state examination in law. He then worked as a research assistant at Bielefeld University and at the same time as a trainee lawyer . In 1982 he passed the second state examination in law and was also awarded a Dr. med. At Bielefeld University with his thesis "The criminal law protection of business and trade secrets in competition law - an investigation into the current and future legal status". jur. PhD .

Krüger then worked briefly as a lawyer , but joined the justice system of Lower Saxony as a judge in 1982 . After positions at the Osnabrück District and Regional Court and the Bersenbrück and Papenburg District Courts , he became a judge at the Osnabrück Regional Court in 1986. From 1988 to 1991, Krüger was the upper right of the city in the old Hanseatic city of Lemgo.

Hans-Ulrich Krüger is married and has three children.

Public offices

From 1991 to 1997 Krüger was city ​​director and from 1997 to 2002 full-time mayor of the city of Voerde (Lower Rhine) .

From 2010 to 2013 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Local Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

MP

From 2002 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017 Krüger was a member of the German Bundestag . From November 2004 to October 2005 he was a member of the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group. From November 2005 to March 2008 he was first deputy spokesman and then spokesman for the parliamentary group's “Finances” working group .

Hans-Ulrich Krüger entered the Bundestag twice as a directly elected member of the Wesel I constituency . In the 2009 federal election he was defeated by Sabine Weiss ( CDU ) with a difference of 345 votes. In the 2013 federal election, however, he was more clearly defeated and entered parliament via the state list.

He was vice chairman of the NSA committee of inquiry until January 2015.
