Hans-Werner Bartsch

Hans-Werner Bartsch (born April 24, 1915 in Kiel , † December 27, 1983 in Lich ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran pastor and university professor for Protestant theology and religious education .

Life

Bartsch came from a pietistic family . After he had obtained his university entrance qualification , he studied Protestant theology in Heidelberg , where he received his doctorate in Protestant theology in 1939 . After his vicariate and ordination , he was pastor in Lauenburg and in a parish in Hesse for two decades . In 1959 he qualified as a professor at the Philosophical Faculty of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main for Protestant theology. In 1962 he received a full professorship at what was then the University of Education , which has been integrated into the university since 1971. Here he taught until 1981 as a full professor of Protestant theology at the Department of Education . Scientifically he emerged u. a. with the publication on Gnostic property and church tradition with Ignatius of Antioch (his dissertation ) and New Testament theological investigations. He published the Kerygma and Mythos collection , eight volumes and supplementary volumes of which have been published.

He stood up against the radical decree in the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1970s . Bartsch was a member of the German Peace Union and the Christian Peace Conference (CFK). In the 1969 Bundestag election , he ran unsuccessfully on the Hessian state list of the Action Democratic Progress .
