The Hans Adler OHG (formerly Hans Adler, Schwarzwälder Fleischwarenfabrik ) is a manufacturer of ham and sausage specialties based in Bonndorf in the Black Forest . The roots of the family business go back to 1920. Adler is one of the founding members of the Association of Black Forest Ham Manufacturers and the largest meat industry company in Baden-Württemberg (in 2011, with a turnover of over 100 million euros, it was third behind Schwarzwaldhof / Edeka Südwest and Velisco ).

history

In 1920 Michael and Margarethe Adler took over what was then Gasthaus Hugel and the butcher's shop on Lindenstrasse in Bonndorf. With the construction of the dam at Schluchsee in 1929, sales of sausage products also increased, as Adler supplied the workers' canteen. From 1935 the son Hans Adler ran the business with his wife Liesel and expanded the range of sausages. This was followed by the start of canning and the Bonndorfer sausages became famous . In the 1950s, the dispatch of Black Forest smoked goods began.

In 1959, Hans Adler brought Black Forest ham onto the market for the first time . In 1963 the Gasthaus Adler was closed and the slaughterhouse and cutting shop were built on the current company premises. In 1964 the Hans Adler OHG Schwarzwälder Fleischwaren was founded, the son Peter Adler systematically promoted the production of smoked products as a co-partner. Hans Adler retired in 1974 for reasons of age, his son Hansjörg joined the family business as a partner.

In 1975 the Alemannic ham was brought onto the market, in the same year the first portion of Black Forest ham sliced ​​in self-service packaging rolled off the line. In 1985, Hans Adler OHG took over Kinzigtäler Fleischwaren GmbH and Schwarzwaldrauch GmbH and renamed them Schwarzwaldfleisch GmbH , Achern. Since 1994, the specialization in ham products has been pushed forward with the construction of a pure ham factory in Achern and the establishment of Schinkenhof GmbH & Co. KG .

From the end of the 1990s, Adler continuously expanded its range; various sausage salads are sold under the Schnelle Küche brand , and Landjäger , Schäufele and other regional specialties are now also on offer. Schwarzwaldfleisch has been selling Adler specialties and presents under the brand name SchwarzwaldArt since 2010 .

Veterinary control numbers

The veterinary control numbers ES 275, BW-EUZ 304, EV 143 and EZ 251 belong to Adler. In addition, the markings BW-EUZ 330, EZ 1549, EV 1549 and EV 1549 are used by Schinkenhof.
