Hans Adolf Wislicenus

Hans Wislicenus or Hans Adolf Wislicenus (* February 18, 1867 in Zurich ; † June 9, 1951 in Herrsching am Ammersee ) was a German chemist who dealt early with forest dieback and its chemical causes through smoke damage .

Life

The son of the chemist Johannes Wislicenus studied chemistry up to his doctorate "summa cum laude" in 1892 at the University of Leipzig through his knowledge of the geometric-isomeric crotonic acids and some derivatives . During his studies he became a member of the AMV zu Würzburg . In 1895 he was appointed to the TH Karlsruhe with a teaching position for chemistry, in 1896 to the Tharandt Forestry College near Dresden as a full professor for chemistry and forest chemical technology. In 1931 he joined the NSDAP and in 1933 he signed the confession of German professors to Adolf Hitler . His successor from 1935 was Heinrich Wienhaus .
