Hans Bals

Johann Baptist "Hans" Bals (born August 15, 1917 in Freising ; † October 23, 2004 ) was a German SPD politician .

Life

After elementary school, Hans Bals, who was a Roman Catholic , completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. After Reich Labor Service and military service, he was a professional soldier until 1945. He came out of the war badly wounded . In 1946 he became an administrative employee at the AOK . Before 1933 Bals was a member of the Socialist Workers Youth . In 1945 he was one of the re-founders of the SPD in Upper Bavaria . At times he was deputy district chairman of the SPD Upper Bavaria.

From 1946 Bals was a member of the city council of Laufen and from 1946 to 1996 a member first of the district council of the district of Laufen and after its dissolution in the course of the regional reform of the Berchtesgadener Land . Bals was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1972. There he worked mainly in the field of defense policy . From 1948 on, Bals was deputy district administrator in the Laufen district.

Hans Bals was married to Franziska Veichtlbauer.
