Hans Friedel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Friedel (born October 1, 1935 in Rauenzell ; † January 7, 2018 in Mömbris ) was a German senior teacher, local researcher and chronicler.

Life

Hans (Johann) Friedel was born in Rauenzell in Middle Franconia in 1935 as the son of the farmers Johann and Barbara Friedel, born in 1935 . Häfelein was born. He attended the humanistic high school in Ansbach and Eichstätt and, after graduating from high school in 1956, trained as a teacher at elementary schools at the Institute for Teacher Training in Würzburg. He worked at the elementary schools in Rittershausen , Aub near Ochsenfurt , Partenstein , Schimborn , Leinach im Grabfeld , Feldkahl and Rottenberg .

The subject of local history at the elementary school in Feldkahl, where he worked as a teacher, aroused his interest in local history. His marriage in 1966 to Christel Rosenberger from Schimborn deeply rooted him in the community. Friedel researched the local history of the community and the parish of Schimborn. In 2000 he published a two-volume local chronicle. Friedel completed his life's work with the chronicle of the Schimborn parish, which also included the history of the Daxberg branch .

In 1970, Hans Friedel was the initiator and temporarily chairman of the traditional costume association "Kahlgründer" Schimborn. He was also instrumental in founding the Schimborn association. As a co-initiator, he campaigned for the creation of a youth campground in the Bornellern. In 1985 Friedel founded the "Association for the Preservation of the Old Schimborn Church" and was also its chairman. In order to raise the necessary money for the renovation of the old church of Schimborn, the St. John's fire was brought into being and celebrated with an annual festival. He was also the driving force behind the construction of a village well in Schimborn. Friedel wanted to create the fountain below the old church on the site of the former school fountain. This wish was denied him by the local council. It was decided to build the fountain behind the old schoolhouse (town hall) in a secluded place.

Hans Friedel was a member of various local associations in Schimborn (music association, folk costume association, hiking association, etc.), the Mömbris history association and the “Unser Kahlgrund” working group for local research.

Friedel wrote and published innumerable local history articles in the daily newspaper Main Echo , as well as in the Spessart booklet of the Spessartbund, in the history journal of the Mömbris history association and in the home yearbook Unser Kahlgrund . The culmination of his work was the consecration of the altar in the old church in Schimborn, as well as the publication of his two books Schimborn, the village and the parish . Hans Friedel died after a long illness and was buried on January 13, 2018 in the cemetery in Schimborn .
